The lovable yet cunning alien was first introduced to audiences in the 1948 short, Haredevil Hare. In the skit, Bugs Bunny is reluctantly sent to the moon and encounters Marvin the Martian in the middle of a scheme to destroy Earth. The bunny thwarts Marvins plans, but ends up blowing up most of the Moon in the process.
